Run
The woods in the photograph at the top of this page are right down the road from my grandparent's house in Brutus, Michigan. This path and its surroundings are my absolute favorite places to run. Besides the sense of complete isolation while in these woods, which I happen to love while on a run, there is always a quality in the air that feels so crisp, fresh, and alive. Because I have been running quite frequently lately it has turned into a kind of therapy as any routine might become. When I don't run my body craves it, when I do, I feel rejuvenated, physically and mentally. Not only does it whip me into shape but also provides plenty of time to think and breath (when I'm not gasping for breath in the Davis heat that is). Because this photo reminds me of my ideal therapeutic environment for a run, why not post it on my blog since writing has also become a form of therapy? I took this photo last summer after a run and hope to run there again soon when I head to Michigan in August.
